Who We Are
Who We Are
🌾 Welcome to Bauman’s Fiber Farm
Where Tradition Meets Texture
Nestled in the heart of Ohio, Bauman’s Fiber Farm is home to a lovingly raised flock of Valais Blacknose sheep—renowned for their gentle nature and luxuriously soft wool. We take pride in ethical, sustainable farming and crafting premium wool products that reflect the care and character of our animals.
From hand-processed yarns to artisan rovings, our fibers are more than materials—they’re the threads of a story woven with passion, patience, and purpose.

A Sanctuary of Rare and Remarkable Fibers
At Bauman’s Fiber Farm, our passion for fiber goes beyond sheep. Alongside our beloved Valais Blacknose flock, we raise majestic yaks and delightfully fluffy angora rabbits—each cared for with deep respect and dedication to ethical, sustainable farming.
-
Valais Blacknose Sheep – Gentle, charismatic, and adored for their long, beautiful locks, crimpy wool.
-
Yaks – Resilient and regal, their downy undercoat yields an ultra-warm fiber with a luxurious, cashmere-like feel.
-
Angora Rabbits – Small in size, but mighty in softness—their fiber adds an airy lightness and halo to hand-spun creations.
-
Whether spun into yarn, combed into roving, or left raw for the handcrafter’s imagination, every fiber here tells a story—one of stewardship, intention, and a whole lot of love.

🥩 From Field to Fork
While our fibers tell one story, our food tells another—of nourishment, stewardship, and reverence for the animals we raise.
We proudly offer small-batch, pasture-raised pork and lamb, nurtured with the same hands-on care and sustainable principles as our fiber flock. Whether you’re looking for a tender cut for a special gathering or stocking your freezer with honest, traceable meat—you’ll taste the difference.
🌿 Ethically raised. Humanely harvested. From our pastures to your plate.

🌾 Our Story
In 2004 Bauman’s Fiber Farm began as a seed of an idea—rooted in love for animals, a respect for the land, and a desire to live closer to the rhythms of nature. Over the years, that seed has grown into a thriving homestead in the rolling hills of Ohio, where every sunrise is greeted by bleats, neighs, and birdsong.
We raise Valais Blacknose sheep, yaks, angora rabbits, pasture/show pigs, laying hens, horses and other random farm animals, each one an essential thread in the tapestry of this place. It’s not just about wool or food—it’s about harmony and husbandry, about tending to what matters most.
What feeds our animals feeds our philosophy.
We grow our own hay and grain, ensuring our livestock are nourished with homegrown goodness. Our pastures aren't just where our flocks graze—they're where our values take root: sustainability, responsibility, and deep respect for life.
Every fleece spun, every pork share packaged, every egg gathered with care—it all tells the same story. A story of soil under fingernails, of twilight barn checks, of raising with intention and harvesting with heart.
This is Bauman’s Fiber Farm. It’s home. And it’s our joy to share a piece of it with you.
